Peter Bertelsen's Ph.D. project

From February 1998 until March 2001 I was a Ph.D. student in computer science at the former Department of Mathematics and Physics of the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in Copenhagen, Denmark. The subject of my Ph.D. project was partial evaluation of Java bytecode programs and my supervisor was associate professor Peter Sestoft. The Ph.D. project was funded by the Danish research programme DART.

Unfortunately, I never properly finished the Ph.D. project. In April 2001, I started as software developer at Maconomy, a Danish software company situated in Copenhagen. For a while it was my intention to complete the Ph.D. thesis in my spare time. After some time with no significant progress in that regard, I realised that there was not much point in feeling bad about it and decided not to pursue the Ph.D. title any further.
